The latest episode CIArb PolicyCast features Ludwig Hambraeus (Policy and Public Affairs Officer at CIArb) and Mahnaz Malik on the topic of “The Geopolitics of ISDS – Global Challenges, International Cooperation, and the Breakdown of Multilateralism”.

The current episode discusses geopolitical influences in modern arbitration, international joint efforts to lessen disputes and ADR as a key to multilateralism.

CIArb PolicyCast is a recently launched podcast series providing succinct and live dispute resolution insights with the commentary of eminent figures of the industry.

International lawyer Mahnaz Malik has recently been appointed to serve on the ICSID Annulment Committee in Almasryia for Operating & Maintaining Touristic Construction Co. L.L.C. v. State of Kuwait (ICSID Case No. ARB/18/2). The ad hoc Committee was formally constituted on Monday 3 August with David Pawlak (President), Eva Kalnina and Mahnaz Malik as members appointed by the Chairman of the Administrative Council.

This marks Mahnaz’s second ICSID Annulment Committee appointment. Her first appointment was in EuroGas Inc and Belmont Resources Inc v Republic of Slovakia (ICSID Case No. ARB/14/14).
