Members have represented clients before The International Court of Justice and ICSID, ICC, SIAC, LCIA, LMAA, NAFTA PCA, HKIAC and WTO tribunals, as well as before the English Commercial and Apex Courts.
Barristers have strong relationships with clients, local counsel, international counsel and government lawyers and the understand the specific legal, commercial and political issues that impact client cases. - Costa Rica v Nicaragua (Maritime Delimitation) – counsel to Costa Rica in two joined cases in hearings on the law applicable to maritime delimitations.
- Counsel in an LMAA dispute on contract to provide ferry services between Colombia and Panama.
- Counsel in ICC and LMAA arbitrations seated in Switzerland, New York and London, in disputes between a BVI company and a state-owned Venezuelan entity relating to Venezuelan natural resources.
- Counsel to Canadian distributor of electronic component defending claims brought by its European representative for termination of the parties’ agency agreement.in London arbitration.
- Counsel in multimillion US$ arbitration against a US aircraft manufacturer.
- Counsel in ICC arbitration seated in Panama and governed by Peruvian law – dispute over an oil contract entered into by the Peruvian state-owned oil company. Hearing conducted in Spanish and English.
- Counsel in US$44 million arbitration for Mexican private equity company in respect of contracts entered into by one of its investment subsidiaries relating to the Mexican off-shore oil industry.
- Counsel to online tech company in respect of its claims against Google for alleged misappropriation and use as part of ‘Google Hangouts’ of business secrets in the face of a non-disclosure agreement.
- Appearing as an expert for a Colombian NGO on international law and human rights before the Constitutional Court of Colombia.
