A huge congratulations to Josephine Davies and Oliver Caplin, who have been sworn in as King’s Counsel today.
Josephine specialises in all areas of commercial law and litigation with particular expertise in complex multi-jurisdictional cases. She is a strong advocate and has extensive experience in the Court of Appeal, High Court and in international arbitrations. Josephine is recognised by the legal directories for commercial litigation, shipping and commodities, and crypto work.
Oliver regularly appears in trials and applications in both the Commercial Court and arbitration (LCIA, LMAA, ICC, SIAC, HKIAC, SCC). He has also appeared on his feet in recent years in the Court of Appeal (twice) and the Supreme Court. He has a broad commercial practice which particularly focuses on international trade, energy, insurance, jurisdiction, and dry-shipping disputes.
Jo commented, “I am delighted to be taking silk and would like to thank all my colleagues and clients for their support. I look forward to continuing to work on diverse commercial cases, developing the law of tech, jurisdiction, fraud and shipping.”
Oliver commented, “taking silk is the culmination of 11 years of hard, but enjoyable, work. I’ve been fortunate to work for, and with, an exceptional collection of clients and other barristers. I look forward to the next chapter of my career supporting clients old and new as a KC, and using my position as a platform from which to drive forward positive change at the Bar in the Wellbeing space.”
We send our congratulations to all the 2024 Silks.
