Angus Glennie (Lord Glennie) returns to Twenty Essex as a full-time arbitrator today after 15 years on the Bench in Scotland.
Duncan Matthews QC, co-head of Twenty Essex, says: “We give a warm welcome back to Angus Glennie upon his return to Chambers again, this time as an arbitrator. Having been in Chambers as a pupil and then later as a highly successful and very popular commercial practitioner, he gradually edged away to Scotland culminating in a stellar career on the Scottish Bench. Twenty Essex is privileged that he will be bringing his strengths to bear in Chambers again; his charm, wit and shrewd intelligence will ensure strong demand for him as an arbitrator.”
Stephen Atherton QC, co-head of Chambers, adds: “It goes without saying that the return to Twenty Essex of someone as illustrious and experienced as Angus Glennie serves only to further enhance the reputation of our already renowned offering of arbitrator members to the market. Twenty Essex continues to grow this aspect of its business steadily but effectively. Angus will be the fifth addition to our cohort of arbitrators in the last four years.”
Angus Glennie states: “I am delighted to be returning to Chambers after 15 years on the Bench in Scotland. In those years I have followed with keen interest the development of Chambers, in terms of its size, its friendly and efficient administration and its pre-eminent reputation for excellence both at home and abroad. I look forward to joining a highly regarded band of arbitrator members and to the possibility, with my years of experience in Scotland, of bringing something new to the feast.”
