The International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Symposium will be held at Washington University School of Law on Friday 21 February 2020.
Titled ‘What Happens Before and After International Arbitration?’, the symposium will address topics relating to “before” the onset of arbitration, such as negotiations and mediation, as well as enforcement actions after the arbitration. Both commercial and investment arbitration will be discussed. The symposium is an annual gathering of top practitioners, academics, attorneys, and students. It aims to advance the development of international arbitration and dispute resolution, educate the next generation of lawyers and provide a forum for networking.
Mahnaz Malik will be providing the keynote address. She says “ I am delighted to participate in this conference. It astutely looks at pre and post arbitration scenarios which are often neglected. I am keen to meet with my colleagues in academia and practice, particularly across the Atlantic and beyond.”
The event will be chaired by M. Imad Khan (Winston & Strawn LLP) with an introduction given by Leila Nadya Sadat, Director of the Whitney R. Harris World Law Institute. They will be joined by a stellar lineup of speakers from Winston & Strawn LLP, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, Reed Smith LLP and the Washington University School of Law amongst others.
