Welcome to Brendan Plant and Jonathon Redwood SC who have both recently joined Twenty Essex.
Brendan continues to enjoy an extensive and far-reaching career in academia and is considered a rising star in public international law. Having completed a six-month pupillage with Chambers, he is now a barrister member.
Jonathon comes to Chambers with almost 25 years’ experience with a successful commercial litigation practice within Australia and the Asia Pacific region. His international practice will be conducted through Twenty Essex in Singapore.
In a joint message, Duncan Matthews QC and Stephen Atherton QC, co-Heads of Twenty Essex, commented:
“We are very pleased that both Brendan and Jonathon have chosen to join Chambers. Brendan’s expertise in public international law plays to the set’s outstanding status in this area. Jonathon’s established practice and connections in Asia Pacific will add to our well-established international footprint which includes a developed practice in Asia. Our physical presence in Singapore continues to be of central importance to our client offering in the region.”
Brendan says: “I am delighted to be joining Twenty Essex, with its rich history of excellence in matters concerning international law, and I am excited by the prospect of working together with such impressive colleagues as I continue to develop my practice.”
Jonathon states: “I feel very fortunate and privileged to be joining Twenty Essex with its enviable global reputation for excellence in international dispute resolution. I am excited about conducting my international practice through Twenty Essex, especially from its Singapore presence, and expanding and building upon my capability in the Asia Pacific in investment treaty arbitrations, cross-border disputes in the Singapore International Commercial Court and general commercial arbitrations.”
Twenty Essex continues to strengthen and expand across all areas of practice. Brendan and Jonathon are the ninth and tenth new practitioners to join Chambers within the past year.
